When I tell people I was in marching band in HS and college they say "band dork" and I argue with them and explain that it's not like that at all! Then I see this.....

The Big Spring MB Band Camp consists of 3 12 hour practices for 2 weeks and and 8 hour practice in between, so Monday is 12 hours, Tuesday is 8, Wednesday is 12, Thursday is 8 and Friday is 12, and we do that for 2 weeks straight. It is tough but that doesnt mean we still cant have fun while were at it :D

Thanks for posting Adam, even though I was just a runner, I'm somewhere in that crowd. Now my sophomore year, we still have the wheelbarrow race tradition :D

Yeah that looks tough all right, not really you don't understand what most stricter bands go through, especially mine we marching three- 6 hours non stop basically we are even lucky to have a 5 min brake ever 2 hrs even tho our director lets us have water on us

Personally, I like seeing these kids have a little fun. I graduated in 1977 and both of my sons were in the same HS band with the same director.

If we had done this in 77, bits and pieces of our butts would still be on the field after the director finished kicking them.

I retired from teaching after 25 years due to cancer, and seeing these kids have fun lets me see how I much I miss my job.

shouldnt u guys have been working...if my band gets a score of 91.0 we work for 6 hours on the same bull shit we learned at band camp..guess thats y we r the toughest band out there:) ilove my band:)
