@KitchenerBombSquad If you look at their family tree, almost every male has trained/or trains in BJJ. Of them close to 40 have fought in some type of no-holds-barred (NHB) or MMA fights.

More and more female Gracie's are training now also. It used to be literally only a handful of them trained, but now the girls are getting more involved in BJJ, & they’re freaking hot too!

The thing about Royce is that he was chosen because he the least intimidating. Prior to UFC 1, he had never fought NHB.

@barrettokarate haha damn, these guys sound more like a militia than a family.. was always amazed at the video of royce killin UFC 1 i think it was, but its pretty rare when that many members of a family are all pro at the same thing

@KitchenerBombSquad Renzo, Ralph, and Ryan are brothers. Their father is Carlos Robson Gracie, who is a first cousin to Royce, which would make them first cousins once removed to Royce.

Daniel Gracie Simoes is also a cousin of Renzo, Ralph, and Ryan, but I'm not sure whose son he is. His name doesn't appear on any of the Gracie family trees that I've ever seen, but he is acknowledged as being an actual Gracie by other members of the family.

@Coopersboy7 a 183lb fighter fighting 230 lb fighters? And Cro Cop really? Saku was winning the fight before the injury. He scored the only knockdowns of the fight and was controlling it on the ground when he caught the up kick that broke his orbital bone. He even finished the 2nd round blind. So reckon he exposed Saku as having an amazing heart.
