This is so true. Even though it was beef they were making amazing music. Im not saying there aren't good southern rappers, because there are some, but the majority has just ruined rap and tarnished the legacy of hip hop built by mc's and dj's from the golden age of hip hop. In my opinion, southern 'rap' or 'hip hop' is closer to pop music. The only fans of fake rap are either ignorant or are kids who have made the transition from the Disney channel to MTV which is really messed up.

The South definitely has a lot more to offer than you think. What about the dungeon family(outkast, goodie mob), ugk, all the original horrorcore groups, the Memphis scene, the Atlanta scene, the Houston scene. Not to say all of this is top notch stuff, but all of it has a real flow, and each city has managed to make their own version of the sound. Sadly, everything has slowly drifted to poppy shit, that we are now known for. It kills me. But we still have the classics.
