  • Are you a voice major at UMKC? Who do you study with? :)

  • @classicalgalNYC Yes! I study with Dr. Raymond Feener.

  • I'm singing this for a jury recital at Truman State. Your video is helping me learn the song. Also, your voice is beautiful. I'm REALLY critical when it comes to singing and you're exceptional.

  • Thank you! And be sure to focus huge on the diction. Dig deep into what it's about and it will help. I concluded that he's singing about a grave mound.... and that really helps with the acting point of it. If the lighting weren't bad, you could see my facial expressions, but oh well.

  • Beautiful! I am singing this for my recital. I was looking for a video of it and found yours! Sounds fantastic!

  • Thanks! I will say though, make sure your pianist goes a bit quicker at the beginning. I really had to push mine when I first came in.

  • VERY nice...

  • Hi Brandon. Keep in mind that better doesn´t have to mean louder. Actually i prefer your performance of 3 years ago. You have a nice and natural voice. The easiness of your singing is a blessing. This is a beautiful, intimite song about the loss of the most beloved. So don´t sing it like a dramatic aria, but focus on the words and expression. I think it will also reduce the vibrato then. Don´t try to reach the audience, but let the audience come to you.

    Good luck my man!

  • Second this. Tone concentrated in the "mask" produces a resonant tone and is efficient. French boy, do you study classical voice? The people you mentioned to place the tone through the mask, but they balance it by lifting the soft palate.

  • nose for an f# below high C then they arent a very well trained tenor or else they arent a tenor at all.

  • Thats not true at all, you shouldn't feel it in your nasal cavatiy, it should be higher placement than that a good opera singer with solid technique sings nothing in their nose, listen to any of the greats: bijorling, gedda, domingo, di stefano, etc. There tone is not there, it is higher, headier. Im assuming you mean F# above high C? or F# bellow high c? F# above high C it is not in the nasal cavaty, it is just such a shrill sound that it is hard to distinguish. If a tenor is singing in their

hahaha, I like how this comment is about as wrong as possible. You may mean something different, but you should feel it in your nasal and other head cavities if you are using proper head-voice a.k.a. keeping the voice forward. Thats how tenors hit the high junk. Listen to how "nasally" it is when male opera singers go f# and above.

  • hmmm pretty tone...but a little too much josh groban sound...if you want to be a classical singer, try to keep the sound out of your nose.

    but very pretty sounding
