It was just about one year ago that a powerful explosion triggered a multitude of chemical reactions which caused a mutation in the primordial ooze that resulted in the birth of The Verge. It has since grown from an awkward and slimy baby into a mischievous but lovable toddler. The cultural phenomenon evolved a lot in the first year, but it still has a lot of growing up to do.

On this weeks Vergecast Josh, Nilay, and Paul take a moment to celebrate and reflect on the past year. And what better way to celebrate than with party hats, cup cakes, and a rousing political debate.

    FYI: I watched this live and there was like a 5 min section where they talked about abortion. Josh said some pretty risqué things and it looks like the edited that out for the YouTube version.

    This has always turned me off to this podcast, I find that they sometimes spend more of their time speaking over each other than actually conversing. It's kinda irritating.
