  • I havent ever used a vg-10 spyderco except for once for a camping trip. I hardly used it though becuase my mora carved much better. Anyways, have you noticed any rust issues with vg-10 over time?

  • @MisterMinnesota - hey there, no rust issues here with vg10. using this knife and an Endura a lot, even in the kitchen. I do clean them off right after using though. I also haven't read any rust reports on vg10 on the forums either.

  • @Severator Woops, I hit the thumbs down button, I meant to hit the reply button sorry. I have a Spyderco Rescue Jr. as my daily abuser in a boatyard (4-5 yrs). It has never been sharpened, I clean the handle occasionally with warm soapy water and a brush. otherwise vg10 steel is maintenance free and rust free. It is virtually impervious to the elements. The only downside is that the portion of the once beautiful orange frn handle that protrudes from my pocket is fading from uv exposure.

  • @w5monkey -np,always appreciate users experience with the steel and boatyard work is top notch.

  • You really don't talk about it, you just kinda talk about nothing. You don't actually get into detail.

  • @916Pepsi -did you have any specific questions about the knife? Maybe I can answer them for you.

  • white-balance...

  • this was my first spyderco. it is a great knife, i got the one without the liners, the one with the steel liners "locks" up much stronger than the one without. but regardless, unless you are stabbing or pokeing something a lock is just a luxerey. learn how to properly handle a knife then you can really appreciate a slip joint.

  • Good vid, I made a few custom leather sheaths for these knives as I could not find anywhere, other than Canada, to buy one.

  • @iRJRx you can carry a kukri or machete if you have good reason. camping or genuine outdoors activities qualify.

  • @untouchblz i may be getting the spyderco FRN which is kinda like this knife's little brother at less than half the price

  • @iRJRx i see, so yeah check out the kiwi, grasshopper. or the kershaw models

  • @untouchblz no for uk carry we need slipjoint knives, but at home use i can use a locking knife, i am actually going to buy the smith and wesson homeland security liner lock. I will be getting all types of knives but i am 100% sure if you go hiking your aloud a locking knife.

  • @iRJRx if slip joint is a must the grasshopper is fine, but I like the kiwi finger groves better. It feels much more secure in the hand. Kershaw also has some nice stainless steel/satin lock back knives that look real nice.

  • @iRJRx I would recommend the kershaw od-2 if you want a small knife. I have a video on it. Are you allowed to have knives that are not slip joint? Because the od-2 is a liner lock.

  • @untouchblz do you think its bigger brother the grasshopper will be anygood? im 16 and just getting into knives, big into guns unfortunately i have to have disarmed guns
