Scene from the very rare 1993 take on the classic Kozure Okami / Lone Wolf and Cub manga: Kozure Okami: Handful of Sand (Kozure Ōkami: Sono chīsaki te ni)

This scene occurs after the Yagyu officials search the Ogami shrine and find a memorial for the Shogun. In this re-telling of the story, Itto's wife is cut down before his eyes as she runs to the shrine to plead to the magistrate. They allow him to lay her body down but Itto isn't going to go quietly.

Fans of the classic films will notice many differences in this re-imagining of Kozure Okami. Two of the biggest being 1) The violence is far less graphic and swordplay equally inferior to that of Wakayama sama and 2) This Ogami Itto really is an emotional chap, luckily his foes always allow him afew moments to shed some tears in between their battles.

I'm currently trying to track down the 2002-2004 TV series, if anyone has access send me a pm!

  • @abax84 Originally he was heartbroken and tearful when this incident happened in the manga and the original TV show.

  • The problem is not he shedding tears.Even in the manga Itto sheds tears when he discovered the dead bod of his wife. The problem is the actor lacks the intensity and the rage of Itto when he faces his enemies. He lacks presence and a intense face that Itto must have.

  • @Rumhurius Noway. The original 70's film series featured the best Itto Ogami. Those films were about as true to the manga as you could possibly get. The TV series Ogami and this film's Ogami are pale imitations compared to Tomisaburo Wakayama's version.

  • the ittto from the tv show was the best actor....he almost fits the manga character perfect.

  • @TheGreaterGood80 Hell Yeah he did..Tomisaburo Wakayama fit the movie series soo well..His presence..Rage...And absolute stone cold resolve...He kicked ass.

This Guy is tooo Emo for my"Lone and Cub' watching ass.

  • @SEVNEYFC I have to agree..The original was a beast..prefect for the role..Tomisaburo Wakayama ! This "Ogami Itto" is pretty emo ..I'm soo glad I've never seen this version til now...This movies blow this out of the water

  • I'm sorry, but regardless of what the original manga or tv show portray him as, in FILM I have a specific expectation that comes with the name Ogami Itto. This just doesn't seem like him. The Ogami Itto I know is an embodiment of rage, a force of nature. Wakayama owns the role as much as Sean Connery owns James Bond(its true).

  • ...and just for the record... the oldest-big-brother(ice-breaker) ...did his research... and conducted the scientific study... and applied his NOGGEN... and did his "homework" ...and I searched high-and-low for the answers to the deepest of lifes questions... hmmm... so don't worry... becase German-Shepherds don't lie... becase dogs never lie... becase we don't know how... hmmm... just sometimes we pretend to be telling the truth... hehehe... and we are NOT very good at it... sorry!

  • ...and this is why mothers NEVER listen... and we all remember telling our mothers... that we need something... and needed food... or something or someone was bothering us... or we truly and honestly needed something... and those who had little brothers and little sisters understand... and especially the true-oldest brothers and sisters... who were over-burdened with child-care... and stuck with the younger-kids... and we had to come-up with a miracle... and to keep-the-ship-afloat...

  • @1misanthropist ...NO! ...NO! ...NO! ...women/mothers do NOT have emotions... women ONLY act emotional... or they try to act emotional... and this is why ugly women surround them selves with children... so they can learn how to act... and when to throw a tamper tantrum... and when to go berserk... and when act-up when they are NOT getting what they want... and this is why mothers tell their kids... "stop acting that way" ...becase they think that kids are also actors... the same as them!

  • @marktsheppard Women do have emotions. Try dating sometime. Women show anger, spite, greediness, jealousy, hatred, vengfulness, etc.
