  • All of the Recruits in this Video had only 10 x 2hr drill instructions and were

excellent at the time. However, it was belting down rain and they had been standing for 30 minutes in the rain. It is easy to be critical watching a Video, but these were great lads and dedicated, they went on to win the annual drill competition in Waterford 3 months later. I was there so I know how good they were, while agreeing this Video may not seem so.

  • i thought the lads did well considering the conditions..i'm a royal naval reservist..and similiarly we were given very little training in ''drill''during our basic training..so it was noted at the passing parade by veterans amongst the crowd that they could tell we werent regulars...however us matelows arent known for our skill in drill..best regards shipmates.

  • Is that McKee Bks., Dublin? Happy days at No. 4 Coy., An Slua Muiri, Cork. When ships were of timber and men of steel. God bless Ireland.
