TOPIC FOR THIS WEEK: "What are some stresses you've faced in delaying the coming out process and in coming out itself, and how have you dealt with them?"
When I came out I think the most hurtful thing for me was to be ridiculed by other gay people just because someone is a nervous wreck does not mean they are not really homosexual.I would like to also say that I do know the differance in being a lesbian and being bisexaul and if I were bisexual I would just say that.
@TheStrong32 Thanks so much for watching! It really makes me mad seeing the Right gearing for a new round of culture war against us as we head into the 2012 elections. -Jim
Thank you so much for this video. You really speak to my heart. I'm 49, was born in (and still live in) a small town in Texas (slightly smaller than Laramie WY). I grew up hearing the hatred in the voices of my peers whenever they talked about "fags," and knew that I must NEVER let anyone know about me. I still hear negative comments, and in some ways it is more intense, now that the Right has made it a part of the culture wars. Fear (in the negative sense) is still a big motivator for me.
@CountryComesToTown ... whether constant stress or fear, i just can't imagine living under that kind of pressure all the time .. =S .. i'm glad that it is coming to an end for you slowly but surely. and in 30 years, when you are looking back at your life, you'll certainly be pleased with yourself, i'm sure! .. =D .. there's no dount in my mind that this is your time now and you really are going to make the best of it! ~ hugs, katie
@oopspaw Hi Katie. I'm not sure it's as much fear as I depicted but rather a constant stress of making a wrong move or saying the wrong thing and being found out. It is wonderful to realize that we live in a different time and a different world today. Thank you so much for watching and for all your support. You know I think you are the best! :) Jim
@RiverBirch1967 Thanks for watching RiverBirch. It's never easy but places like this channel will hopefully change some minds about that. Thank you for watching and being here! -Jim
