That was no chinese emperor. That was a mongol on the throne of China. Yeah, Brian Dennehy looks weird playing an Asian character, but hey, maybe some mongolians looked like that then.

It was planned and filmed as a mini series with 4 episodes but then broadcast as one 3-hour movie.
