Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1965, Mikey Spice began singing in his father's church at age seven. He then began learning guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, piano, saxophone, flute, harp and clarinet before age 13.
Seven years later, he decided on a reggae career. After working with several bands, Spice began recording in 1991.
A successful live date at 1993's Reggae Sunsplash sparked his Ras Records debut, Happiness (1995), followed the next year by Born Again.
Jah Lifted Me appeared in 1997. Harder Than Before was issued in early 2001and he has continued to release tunes and perform live consistently since then, although he is now a committed Christian.

    ....DOES ANYONE ELSE AGREE?

  • @MrMk4life There is a bit of a debate going on about the state of reggae music at the moment. Watch this interview here on YT and let me know what you think.

  • Biggest tune on this riddim, you hear this on radio regular. Then again it depends on what country you are in and what type of stations u listen to. I hear it regualr both in England and Jamaica but elsewhere may not appreaciate so you may be right. Good thing there is Youtube.

  • @MrMk4life I worked on a documentary film about dancehall music down in Kingston, and I gotta say that by the time it was over I was happy to go back to hearing traditional, tried&true reggae, rock steady, ska, mento and calypso. If dancehall wasn't so ego-based in much of the lyrical content I might give it more of a try. Nice to be discovering more of the sweet music of Mikey Spice. seen, Hunter Mann p.s. I think I've listened to the soundtrack of The Harder They Come over 2,000 times.

  • This one of the best artist but as they say is always the fool have the mic
