I have the original Cado Belle LP and the subsequent EP which as far as I know were the only commercial releases - there does appear to be a CD for sale which combines the LP and EP, and which is now available for download on iTunes - at least in the UK.
This upload is from a BBC Radio 1 'In Concert' programme - broadcast around 1977/8, which comprised 5 songs - only one of which was released commercially. The songs were :
'Next Best Thing'
'Ain't No Doubt'
'Falling In And Out Of Love'
'September' (- released on the EP)
'Still Running'
I'm afraid that the tape got stuck in my car cassette player at some point in the past and a small section of this track got a little creased - nonetheless the overall quality is still surprisingly good considering. I'll put upload the other tracks shortly.
I believe that there were two Cado Belle live concerts broadcast by the BBC during their existence, and maybe the other broadcast included other unreleased material - check your attics !!!!!
Certainly I thought I had bought all their recordings which consisted of the main LP plus the EP released a year or so later. September was one of my favourites at the time (and still is). Great group, pity so short llived.

If they had three-band concerts in the late '70s like they did in the '60s--imagine this lineup: Cado Belle, Kokomo, and AWB live. I paid to see the last two play together--I'd pay to see that lineup.

@herbert000sherbet - The LP and EP are available on a Japanese CD. Try Amazon UK (they had one last time I checked), Amazon USA and also Amazon Canada. Prices vary from about 15 quid (UK) to 60+ (Canada). All sites appears to be down to one or two copies (Music Stack is all vinyl inc. singles and I saw a CD-R). The Japanese CD is wonderful... a mini album sleeve, and having the EP tracks added is a real bonus. And it all - still - sounds great.

@herbert000sherbet - The AWB trumped Cado Belle cuz they came along first, had a better concept, were better players, had better songwriting, had better vocals, the rhythm section was far superior to this one... And they were on Atlantic Records. Don't get me wrong, I love Cado Belle. I have a couple copies of the LP, of the EP, and of the CD (which contains both). I saw Cado Belle several times in Edinburgh (our bands share the same agent), and they were great. But the AWB was serious stuff!

This has set a standard that many new artists fail to reach. Why, Cos they ain't got soul. That simple.

Thanks SO much for uploading. I think this broadcast was 1977 as I remember hearing it when I still lived in Aberystwyth (moved away in Sept 1977). Hah. I can remember the tranny we had at the time 'Grundig Party Boy' LOL

Why were the Scots so good at this style of music and why did the Average White Band eclipse Cado Belle?
