i forgot to mention eric clapton and paul kossoff they used gibsons a lot back in the 60,s but the problem i have is if i bought a gibson les paul id be scared to play it on stage in case it got damaged because they are such exspensive instruments where as with a strat or a tele they are so cheap nowadays that if anything happens its not a big deal

@goredeathrot Warmoth has PLENTY of imported woods. I have a neck with Padauk and Ebony. I could get a guitar from them that would play as good or better than any Custom Shop LP for one-fifth of the price at most! I have Studio Faded LP but, I don't understand why people pay 1,500 $ more than that for a maple cap and paint! If you think most Gibsons are reasonably priced then knock yourself out. I just won't waste my money on them.

@bbnatedogg Mahogany is an imported wood and is subject to a crap load of import and duty, and tariff fees to bring it on North American soil. . Maple is run of the mill, I have like three Maple trees on my property.
