  • Patriarchy is the root of all evil. Im glad I found this conversation. One of the things that stands in the way of Blacks eliminating anti-Black racism is their continual perpetuation of patriarchy. Black men, as a group, don't challenge white male capitalist patriarchy because they are too busy trying to hold on to their own patriarchal privilege...

  • as a part of the human race, we all condone murder one way or another. Are you pro-military? Are you pro-war? Conservatives condemn abortion, but use a particular language to euphemise the killing of men, women, and children all over the world.

  • Football is organized bullying. We are taught to love it.

  • @JuliusGray I see that happening with this Frat that im interested in. It out right has patriarchy as the driven force in it's sister group and these smart beautiful women play the rule in the interest of a more romanticism but I wonder wouldn't be better if they was equals in stature. I think that relationship is more healthy for rebuilding the community they serve.

  • bell hooks is the truth!!! <3

  • Wow, you don't get intelligent discussions like this on tv anymore.

  • @JuliusGray I agree. Black men continue to uphold patriarchy when it is patriarchal institutions that perpetuate racism in the first place. Black men continue to cry out against racism but have no problem with upholding violence and oppression of women.

  • o.j. simpson beat his wife? i didnt kno that really?, i dont think he killed her tho i think he had some one do it .

  • I agree with the logic she proposed. It was a surprise when women aligned with sexist events by basing their judgment on race rather than sex. They celebrated when the verdict showed O.J. Simpson not guilty. Also, I agree with her point that the media managed to alter people's views from being a male against female violence case to a racial one.

  • @Th3Individual my bad.

    lol

That was quite a blanket generalization, wasn't it?

What I should've typed was "most Black journalists/ public figures condemn anyone who challenges Obama's actions & motives." People always make the excuse that he's dealing with residue from Bush. But, the same powers that were puppeteering Bush are still present. Just because Obama is Black doesn't mean that they went away. JFK getting murdered was proof that a president can choose (at their own risk.

  • The problem is we're ALL hypnotized by the entertaining spectacle that we see in the media.

The news presents us with a prepared agenda of how they want us to react to something.

Because of the myth that is RACE, racism has been able to control our emotions, and the televised media uses that to manipulate how we think.

Most of us are very easy when it comes to this.

Thats why OBAMA is blindly supported by us Blacks.

We don't question anything about him.
