[From "Kovacs Corner" on YouTube.com] - This is a very rare 1952 kinescope of one of Ernie's earliest TV shows, "Kovacs on the Corner". Shot at the old WPTZ studios in 1619 Walnut Street in Philadelphia (where "The Mike Douglas Show" also originated in the 60's and 70's), and broadcast over the fledgling NBC Television Network, it shows a glimpse of some of the zany aspects of Kovacs' imagination. "Officer" Pete Boyle is the father of the late actor Peter Boyle from "Young Frankenstein" and "Everyone Loves Raymond". "Yoo Hoo Time" was just a short blackout where one of Ernie viewers would just wave to the audience. Here Ms. Lucia Schultz sings in the Kovacs tradition the Italian waltz "Il Bacio (The Kiss)" from the Italian composer and conductor Luigi Arditi. (For a listen to the straight dose of this musical composition, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWVtaMMiyr0 ). Wrapping up the show, Lucia sings a very impressive and heartfelt rendition of "St. Louis Blues" to Officer Boyle, as Ernie signs off with his noted catchphrase "It's Been Real".
"'DAVE AND CHARLIE' are next, on the NBC Television Network".

Like Harold Lloyd, Kovacs was a talented actor who played the part of a comedian.
