''Christian Brother'' -by Mark Manning-REPORT ON CHILD ABUSE IN IRELAND made public 20/5/09

All manmade Religious Institutions have their hypocrisy and 'dirty little secrets'.It is incumbent on us all to highlight and erradicate instances we know of.I wish to emphasise the order of Christian Brothers in Ireland for the most part was and is an eminent and hard working order.It was responsible for giving world class education to most young Irish men.However within in it's ranks for years ,lurked many troubled,perverted and vicious individuals .It always struck me as ironic that the term Christian Brother could be used to describe them.''Christian Brother'' is dedicated to the many thousands of voiceless victims that suffered appaling abuse at the hands of these so called -Christan Brothers'.

why are people so afraid to "attack" the catholic church? this report shows that abuse and cover-up was ENDEMIC, and there is tons of evidence to show that this has happened for centuries in countries across the world. the church itself, that is the males who run it, are responsible for it not just some "rogue elements."

if you keep giving these disgusting men such reverence, then the truth will never come out. this church need to be revealed as frauds, like all religious leaders.

Thanks for your comment .I don't believe in a blanket condemnation of the catholic church or any other bodyI'D LIKE AN APOLOGY FROM THE POPE HIMSELF !.In fairness ....I happen to have known a few very good and dedicated Christian Brothers.I'm sorry but I can't tarnish them all with the same brush.What happened , SHAMEFUL ,a bit late in the day it's true ,but things have changed in Ireland over all this..Child abuse is ENDEMIC and not just limited to the Clergy .

the entire church is guilty i dont care how many times they say they are sorry,it has no meaning until they turn the names over of the perverts who molested the children.those names wont be turned over until the good people of the church insist everyone involved in the rapes and cover ups are brought to justice in this life not the after life.they need to pay for their crimes against humanity and be put in jail and have to register as the sexual predators they are if ever released from jail

Being a victim of abuse/cruelty from nuns and sexually assaulted by a christian brother is just one of many reasons why became an Atheist. I hate anything to do with any religion or any gods. I hope they all rot in their so-called hell and suffer the same as I did all those years ago. You never forget it and I will never forgive those low life pieces of shit.

Children and animals are the easiest victims because they cannot protect themselves. We must protect them. This is an amazing monologue--it made me cry. It should have a whole play written around it
