Jools Holland's Happening was a precursor to the BBC's Later with Jools Holland and in my opinion a superior show on account of the fact that it had a studio audience. I recorded this session in 1991 although the year at the end is 1990.

Lineup: Original plus Keith Wilkinson on Bass and Matt Irving on Keyboards

  • @zeusface, the guitarist is Mark Flanagan...Jools lead guitarist from his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

  • @JaggsyJaggs

Ah...thank you very much Jaggsy! That's a mystery solved after 20 years!

    Nice one!

  • Who is the guy playing guitar behind everyone on the left?

  • @zeusface

I've no idea and it's been bugging me for the last 20 years! I've never seen him before or since! Anyone know who the mystery balding third guitarist is?!

  • Gilson Lavis is one of my favourite drummers - so tight and vastly under rated.

  • First time i heard this, i thought it was the new McCartney single.

  • @mensamoo No, that was just the style at the time. That's Matt Irving on the keyboards, so that's the early 90s? My baby brother, who was a toddler at the time, and half the guys at my high school had the same long on top, short underneath haircut as Glenn. I think it was called a surfer cut.

  • When I say "fan" I mean "air circulating device" not "enthusiast" of Mr Tilbrook!!

  • Ive seen Squeeze twice and respect their musicianship greatly. Just to point out I don't care about his wig.... laffs

  • @mensamoo

Lol! You're not the first person to have suggested so, but I really don't think it is! I've met Glenn 3 times, last time was 3 years ago when I was sound engineer at a solo gig he did and he has a full head of (real) hair! There was a fan on stage blowing his hair all over the place. If he does wear a wig then he must superglue it on!!
