Naples Italy - The City of Trash

Naples Italy is known for beautiful sights, crazy drivers, but most importantly, it's trash problem. Since 2007 Naples has had issues with it's trash collection. Trash overflows the dumpsters and trash cans due to lack of landfill space, and mafia control of the waste management industry. See for yourself how truly smelly it can be!

I was there when i was in the Navy in the late 80's and it was a serious problem back then as well. I bet some of that trash is still in the same place and the same corners as well.  Pisa isnt much better outside of the tourist area either. I dont remember florence, or la spizia having that problem or sicily either.

Naples and it's trash. Naples and it's mafia. No shortage of each and both are major problems.

Both were problems even during WWII when my novel takes place. And still no solution.

Please don't be scared by this video. The trash problem is real, but not always as evident as it is shown here.

The video does not show the many castels, palaces, gardens of this city. In other word Naples' unique history and culture, which goes far beyond a (delicious) slice of pizza. There you will find many visibile beautiful corners, but many more that are hidden and just wait to be discovered.

Ive been to naples while in the miltiary and i have to say it was disgusting and ridden with trash and had builings with anti-american slurs..... Prostitutes were everywhere and i just didn't feel welcome even though i am Italian american. The one thing that struck a cod with me was that retrurants were selling pizza they had displayed in the windows days earlier.... P.S. dont go to naples!
