House Speaker Boehner Is Serious About a 'Responsible Path' for U.S. Economy

Acknowledging the potentially dangerous effects to the U.S. economy should sequestration go into effect Jan. 1, 2012, House Speaker John Boehner said Nov. 9, 2012, he was serious about coming to a compromise with Democrats in order to avoid dropping off the so-called fiscal cliff. He called for a "responsible path" to replace spending cuts through entitlement and tax reform.

There are two ways to balance the budget. Either the middle class pays higher taxes or the super-rich pay higher taxes. For the Speaker to be hesitating over which we should do is shameful.

As the stock market and corporate profits go up and up, the super-rich are swimming in money. They can afford to contribute a little if they have any stake in this country at all.
