Ours had 170000 before it finally gave up. A standard rotary engine will last forever if properly cared for. The only reason they blow around 60,000-80,000 is people forcing 300 or more hp out of a 1.1 or a 1.3 liter engine, and people driving the hell out of these little cars. Rotary engines are actually extremely reliable

to the guy said rotarys arent efficent theres literally 3 moving parts in whole thing asentric shaft the rotors thats it and it didnt blow up it just needs new seals guaranteed you blew the seals out of it and it got worse and messed everything up you dont turbo a rx7 that doesnt come stock from factory visit racing beat thell hook u up

i dont know a whole lot about rotary motors but a guy in my car club has a 93 rx7 and blew his motor...how in the hell do you blow a rotary motor when theres only 3 parts moving...i heard of blowing the seals but what can actually break inside the motor

bet your using the factory ecu? leaned out on the rear rotor and mushroomed the seals? thats the problem with factory ecu's they drop two injectors a descent microtech or megasquirt some 1000cc primary injectors 1600cc secondary injectors and use unbreakable seals you could have a 400hp daily driver that will last for ever!
