Sammy was cuttin' it up! Definitely was one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Super multi-talented.

Was this show live or taped? Were those skaters risking all in real time, in full view of God and the Capitol Records tower?

@tweezee There were some who made multiple hosting appearances, including Davis. The one who did it the most, I believe, was Bing Crosby. In fact, his first three Christmas shows with his (second) family were episodes of the show.

GRANDE SAMMY ERES GENIAL
Man, if you don't dig this opening number, get in your car and drive immediately to your local coroner and ask him to put a tag on your toe, cause you are dead, jack. Sammy is wailing and the band is jumpin' with him step for step. Whats so great about this is that Sammy is from a prior generation than this genre, which is more out of the Sam Cooke school, yet Sammy jumps on it like he owns it. Very few, can ever pull this off. His versatility was unrivaled.
