apparently it hasnt rained in this part of the antartica for 20 million years.. its conditions are so much like mars that nasa did testing for there viking mission there..

Man this is beautiful , I really can't believe that Antarctica , one of the coldest places on earth , has rivers! and a part with no snow!

These photos are from the Dry Valleys of Antarctica - which are not islands, they are part of the Southern-most continent. Please correct the title of this video - otherwise I like it ;)
