All artists (including writers) embody contradictions. Art is discovery; exploration; search for the sublime. Don't read Ezra Pound like you would a political speech. Pound wasn't interested in winning geo-political wars.

With all this talk about Ezra Pound being a fascist, I want to remind everyone that Ezra Pound was staunchly ANTI-WAR. Before the US entered WW2, he went back to the US and tried to talk some sense into the politicians. He didn't want young Americans to go die meaningless deaths for the benefit of the bankers. When that failed, Pound went back to Italy and what's a poet to do but SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER. How many poets are as brave as him today?

@AncientProphecy Meanwhile, Israel (or more accurately International Jewry) pulls off 9/11 and blames it on the Arabs. Search for 9/11 missing links, and then consider what Ezra Pound was trying to warn us about. Also, search for videos about the USS Liberty. That's when Israel attacked an American ship with the intent on blaming it on the Egyptians to provoke the US into attacking Egypt. Same game plan / Different era.
Ezra Pound knew what was up. International Jewry has a plan for us. :(

Is there any possible way subtitles could be added to this? I'd love to know what's being said. I can only nod my head in blind agreement for so long.

Very interesting commentary.
I am just beginning to explore Pound's work....there are a minority of us who feel the need to turn away or vomit at what passes for history and truth among the masses and even among,as Nietzsche calls them, the "famous wise ones".

can you add english subs?

Ezra Pound knew well the maxim: "The pen is mightier than the sword."

Can you tell Ezra Pound verse from a ridiculous parody?
A Google search for "Poetry or parody" will bring you the quiz.

I think Pound is much more readily recognized as an enemy of democracy because his poetry is the most alien to democratic sensibility that I've read. Its aura is more Roman or Chinese than English (to me, at least). Artists like Dostoevsky, T.S. Eliot, and Wagner often get away with their anti-Semitic beliefs because there is still something in it that the modern audience can relate to. Today, readers and critics mostly use the fascist excuse to stay in their comfort zone. That's my opinion.
I'm the author of this interview and I agree with the last comment: all we who did this film are strongly antifascists, neverless we can recognize good writing.
