Please spare us the pointless etymology of a word that for over a century now has been taken LEAGUES away from the benign nature of its derivative by those driven by hate and ignorance. A word's meaning and its use can often be two different things. The message that I got from Nas's video is that we all use this term so loosely in society without considering the hurtful history it carries behind it.We've gotten to a point now where many different races are using the word. We went through lynchings,massacres,and burnings behind this word yet everybody wants to be a "nigga".I,for one,strongly dislike the word myself,but if we really want to stress the message about how uncool it is to use, we need to let the issue be known internationally .
