Think RSS is dead? Think it's too slow for the age of streams? Perhaps that's true for news. But have you ever tried using Google Reader as a private database? In this video I will show you how I use Google Reader in exactly this capacity.

  • Nice. I've been using Google Reader to find stuff to share in selectively in this manner for quite some time. I don't think I'd ever find things if I had to try to Google them in the same manner, but since it is only a subset of the 'net it is easy. You can use tags to great advantage in this regard(though imo the reader team needs to do some work on their implementation). Also... I run all of MY RSS feeds (flickr, tumblr, etc.. through reader to make it easier to find my own stuff later)
