The Monkees!!!!

@kimberlyKfnOphiEAGLE It was composed by Jack Easton with three simple instruments: flute, windwood and harp.

The NBC Peacock inspired me to learn how to draw as a child. It also started a fascination about how animation was done 'back in the day'. All done by hand, no computer graphics, but Scanimation started to change all that.
-
@1986Sheri To answer your question, he's the composer of the Peacock's music.
-
Why would someone be afraid of this? So many great shows on NBC had this opening in the 1960's. The 1957 Peacock had, IMHO, a louder opening with the cymbal crash!
How about the 'sneezing Peacock' used for the pilot of "Laugh-In"?
-
@kimberlyKfnOphiEAGLE It was written by my father, Lou Garisto.
-
y'know, I prefer the feathers on the current logo better, however I do much prefer the old peacock's silhouette and presentation. :(
-
I loved the Laramie Peacock and used to dream about that music and animation when I was a kid!
-
who's Lou Garisto?
-
The Peacock first appeared as a still picture in 1956,the animated cymbal clash Peacock first appeared in 1957,the Laramie Peacock in 1962 and lasted until 1975 when NBC unceremoniously dumped it.
I believe the music for the 'Laramie Peacock' was written by Lou Garisto, or was it Milton DeLugg?

I agree, You1360! That hypnotic music and animation used to scare the hell out of me when I was growing up. I'm sure the stereotypically tripped-out hippies had a real kick out of this one. You don't need LSD to get a trip out of this wonderful bumper. They don't make TV like this anymore!
