Monty Python are hillarious

Each spider that pinches
Each bug that drinks your blood
He made each every one of them
He made them all with love

Please can we have a comment about the satirical humour of this song... All this philosophical twaddle is making my head hurt.

@8DX To annoy?

@SSTTEEAALLTTHH I thought their easy answer to everything was "it's a test" or at least one of God's "mysterious ways." But even the Christians don't seem to buy that one wholeheartedly ^^

But then you do have to force them to admit "my God made an imperfect creation, and is the cause for cancer, vomit, dog shit, malaria etc.". I know few Christians who actually admit that their God, while claiming he made everything, also designed malaria and vomit etc.

Jeez, some of you guys kill the fun of this FUNNY satire of a benign hymn. Python was fun (if occasionally thought provoking), some of you blokes seem to have a stick up your arse!

As an atheist, I agree with the poster Bithiuge, who is a Christian. Although I happen not to believe in God, I reject the idea that suffering disproves the existence of God.
Of course, I also reject the fundamentalist claim that there was literally no death before Adam & Eve ate the apple -- as though God's Plan was that killer whales would just sustain themselves by nibbling on seaweed, until mankind sinned, and then orcas were "allowed" to gobble up delicious seals and penguins!

I never said I am privileged or wise. I never said I have been handed wonderful secrets. What I said was indeed the opposite - I am human and therefore admit that I know nothing. I cannot see the grander picture and neither can any of us. I trust in my God that everything happens for a reason and for good - we are blind to the true purpose of events and that includes me. At no point have I claimed to know the purpose of things, I have simply offered my belief.

We can't even look after the humans we have on the planet already - we kill, maim, enslave, rape and torture in more ways than I care to imagine. As a species, we have caused more harm to our own species and to nigh on all other creatures through our actions (directly or indirectly) so I'd say that the occasional culling of a few of us probably helps prevent us ruining this planet forever. yes, on a personal scale they are devastating, on a larger scale, they probably help the planet!

Imagine if they did play that on national TV today. Millions throughout the Bible Belt would gasp in unison, causing untold casualties due to the sudden and catastrophic drop in air pressure.
