I hate the korean/japanese stuff aswell, my parents had a samsung fridge freezer that lasted 12 hours- its compressor had burnt up. This had replaced a 12 year old admiral that had been running perfectly ever since but they wanted to get rid of it cause it didnt go with the kitchen!!!!!! lol

They still make new equipment over here I think, but their cheaper models are imported.
