In this video, Nicki Noftz, Traeh Pilates instructor, answers a question regarding TMJ and how Traeh Pilates can help. She demonstrates Pilates exercises to relieve TMJ pain from a Traeh Pilates perspective.
@helenaluo As for the c-section, I will advise you to listen to your doctor. If there have been any restrictions put in place, you want to adhere to those. Otherwise, do gentle movements that your body likes. Outside of the Swan in the video, the others should be gentle enough to perform. Just make sure to stop anything that feels uncomfortable. As for after, I actually have a video for January that will deal with pre and post natal. Once you are cleared, see if any of those exercises help.
@helenaluo When resisting to the side, you want to keep your head level. You will move your head to the side off of the spine or leading with your jaw bone or ear. It is not a tilting. You could also think about it as if you had a stack of blocks in line. You would only be moving the top block slightly to the side. It may not move very far. The goal is to gain more flexibility and strength in the neck to make the movement happen.
I appreciate the systemic approach, and detailed explaination. When you resist head from sideways, do you just move your chin on the side a bit, or you move the whole head on the side a bit - is the head still parallel to your spine?
I might have a scheduled c-section on Dec 24 if baby hasn't come by then. Any precautions before and after the delivery?
