A report recently published by GAO (another office that's vehemently anti-gun) stating that through 2007 AND 2008, 30,000 guns were taken from cartels. 7,200 (24%) guns were given to the BATFE for tracing - the other 22,800 had SOVIET, SOVIET COM-BLOC and CHINESE ARMORY MARKINGS. ONLY 24% were run for tracing! ONLY 4,000 (13.3%) were traceable! 3,480 guns (11.6%) came from the US, purchased an average of 14 years prior *DURING* THE ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN THAT WAS *ILLEGALLY* SIGNED INTO LAW IN '94.

Couldn't this be considered crimes against humanity with all the killings that have happened in Mexico and the U.S.? I'm just saying, these guns are responsible hundreds if not thousands of deaths in Mexico and our government supplied these guns! Not to mention the deaths here along the border. If this happened under a Republican Pres. you can bet the left would be screaming about crimes against humanity! I think it is time to adopt some of their tactics and turn it on them. How can I trust my government, as a military member if this gets swept under the rug witch is most likely to happen? Look this started right at the head of this administration who promised Sahara Brady that he would bring back many of the gun bans that have expired. Obama and his cronies had to cook something up like this before he shot off his mouth about most of the guns used in Mexico drug violence came from the US! Appalling just appalling that they can get away with this!

The NRA needs to partner with the DOJ and the BATFE to come up with a illegal trafficking statute with sufficient deterrents that straw purchasers will think twice before buying for the other guy. At the end of the day, the US Government is not responsible for the guns that ended up in Mexico. The Mexican Customs is responsible for allowing the entrance of the firearms in their country. Stop the nonsense and work together to make America safe form the drug lords and the terrorist.

All i can say is thank you, to you and the NRA. I feel this is a topic that should be talked about more often. I live 5-10 min from the mexican border and i work for a gun store and every time i see a person come in to buy CASES of 7.62x39 ammo i just keep thinking about what the ATF did and how most of this ammo is not for target shooting. I feel this should be front page news and the people responsible should be punished.
