nice pond how big is it

That pond looks too shallow, how is the eel not killing all the other fish? I dont know much about eels. Also its not true that turtles keep eating Koi, it is very rare that Turtles hurt Koi. Specially if you have small turtles like Musk, which are 4-6 inch. Which is like 8-12 centimeters. I dont have a pond yet but I might get one, from what I have seen Turtles and Koi dont bother each other much. In fact Turtles are the victim since the greedy and fast Koi take all their food.

To JBP46: I am pretty sure he is in Australia trying to tell from the music. Over here we dont need to do any of that, we dont even need a deep pond, the most dangerous domestic animals you can probably find here are Magpies (Black and White Crow) and Possum -_-
Yes I know not very exciting.

hey man. Im thinking of getting a russian tortoise for my backyard. What kind of vegetation is the turtle in this video eating? Also what plants should i plant around my pond that the turtle can eat or hide in? Thanks
Im shocked you have turtles, mollys Koi and a freshwater Moray in one pond!
for 1 the mollys will be lunch for either the koi, turtle or moray
the turtle will eat the moray and the turtle will bite chunks out of your koi!
On a positive note....how does the turtle react to the tortoises being simular but very diff creatures?

Because of the size of the pond, the many rock cave hiding places, the shallow cove and the fact they are all VERY well feed.. I really don't have many issues. I have a large stock of minnows and that tends to be the food for the eels. The turtles never bother the koi. The only time the turtles have attacked a fish if it is very sick and near death. When the turtles leave the pond they just ignore the tortoises. Although my large female slider sleeps in the tortoise igloo with my redfoots.

One suggestion: how some wide views? You have such a lovely yard, it would be nice to see the whole space from a distance and then zoom in. Don't ask me how you would do such shot. I'd just like to see how it's set up in a more general way? Oh, and turtles sure eat a lot!

Great idea! I'll try that on my next one. They do eat a lot of food, I give them fresh veggies and fruit every day a long with flowers and other treats.

Thank you! It is my backyard. It is actually very small and VERY well fenced in in the middle of the city. But it is my little paradise. I hope you enjoyed the video. ~ Ginger
