I think this song was actually written by Jeff Paris, who often plays keys for Kevin.

The story behind this song is Kevin & I got together to write. Kevin: "have you heard that song by Deana Carter? "I Shaved My Legs for This?" Me: "Yeah?" Kevin: well, I never asked anybody to shave her legs. have you?" Me: "Nope." Kevin: "well, we should answer that song, cuz I've never told a woman to do for me and I think that's true of a lotta guys." So there you have it. I especially like the live performances at the end where he says "ya don't hafta shave NOTHIN' for me."

@jeffparis51 hello Jeff, I am not sure you will remember me, I am the very tall lightskinned woman that Keb had a long conversation with after the show at the OrangePeel in Asheville NC, around 2007! I have been out of the loop i just had a daughter 14 months ago (Angelina) every time I hear anything from him it makes my heart glow next time you see Kev' tell him Babette said hello and I still sing just to a smaller audience!
