  • I think the final scene is very effective and extremely emotive. The leap into Romeo's arms, for me is a reminder of the irony of this moment. For a second the 'dead' juliet appears alive, revived, springing into his arms before fading back to limp corpse-like posture. The irony being that she is still alive. I also find it emotionally effective as their mutual loss of one another is almost incomprehensible, they simply cannot believe the other is dead, that they cannot be together. Great stuff

  • Seconded Rojo is sublime Acosta isn't a bad job himself - the chemistry they have on stage is VERY special.

  • @repn87 i've been to the opera house for a performance of Sylvia (Sarah Lamb & Federico Bonelli). It's such a stunning experience. Not just the ballet performance, which on it's own was spectacular, but just being there is just fantastic, go if you have chance, book a trip, and go. Even just once in your life. You won't regret it.

  • God I love Carlos!!! So handsome, graceful, and athletic. Tamara's feet are to die for.

  • Who is the man who talks about magic?

  • @repn87 And when I say cheap, I mean a whole day out on £20! I was in Cardiff at the time and never paid more than just over £20 to get to London and back on the train, and about £10 on the coach :)

  • @repn87 I used to work at the ROH, and you can get a seat in the lower slips (which isn't that bad) for as little as £6! It'll cut off a bit of the stage, but you won't miss much. Upper slips will cut off more, but lower, for £6 - bargain! Check their website :) Also, if you're in the UK, it's actually quite cheap to get to London if you book in advance on the coach/train. London isn't as expensive as everyone makes out if you do your research (I spent many cheap days here before I moved here!).

  • @repn87 ohh sorry i thought u maybe lived in london!!! i certainly dont it is just im english so my mum to me as a treat!!!

  • @repn87 i no!!! u should go if u can :)

  • they match so well i saw this yesterday it was heartbreaking and amazing!!!

  • @SonyaNatalia macmillan in a way wanted people to be offended by the dragging of the body. it was almost to show the destructive power of love, that this is what it can do to you, make you act in not necessarily nice ways...he wanted to make people sit up and think about what they had just seen not just to leave after a ballet all happy and smiling, and he has certainly achieved that here.

  • I love what is said about magic a the end......sigh
