If you've ever been to Stubbs Bar-B-Que in Austin, Texas on 8th and Red River, then you may have seen this place before. It used to be my father's bookstore and art gallery called Brazos Bookshop and Bois D'Arc Gallery. Recognize the old stone front of the building which is still there? The inside looks quite different now. We get to see here vintage footage of my father, Paul Foreman, reading his poem 'Pecans' to the Dutch documentary film maker H.C. Ten Berge in 1982. I was probably around two years old at that time.
