I have been getting the question a lot lately as to what is a boilie, and how do I make them?

Seeing that our derby is less then a week away I figured now was a good time to do a tutorial on how to make a simple boilie recipe.

I know plenty of other videos are out there, but I wanted one for oue website (www.blackstonecarp.com)

This is a very basic recipe:

Dry Mix:
2 cups dry dog food ground
2 cups flour ( I prefer soy )

Wet Mix:
2 - 4 eggs
1 tsp oil per egg

Mix dry into wet until you have a workable paste.
roll into balls 12mm-18mm
boil 30 at a time for 3 minutes
Air dry 1-2 hours minimum.

  • How big fish carp u catch!!???Dont thing u catch big one..from a video i see..that boile u make in some other wather ,u cant catch shit...maybe some other wild wather....maybe..but other dont think so....!!!!!!!

  • @smraja1000 I have no idea what your saying..I'll take it that you enjoyed the video and are happy I am catching great fish :) Thanks, I appreciate it!

  • ha ha ha.. from this video that boilies u made is totaly crap..in boilis must go at least..7 spicies of flavour...fish,soya,korn, and others...hemp oils...carp love hemp, and 6 or 10 different additivs..then u can tell that u have good boilie who catch big carp and lot of them,.this is dissaster put this on youtube!

  • @smraja1000 Your right, clearly these don't catch fish..as shown in my other videos. Carp like a lot of things and sometimes you need a complicated approach, sometimes a simple approach. One of the all time best baits for carp is sweet corn...by your logic sweet corn wouldn't work. Sadly, you've been taken in by the hype of all those great bait companies. You keep buying your "7 spices" and other additives. I'll keep catching carp on methods that work. Thanks for watching!

  • Our cup measure is 250ml, is that the right one to use??? I'm thinking that even if it's not, as long as I stay with a 1 to 1 ratio of Soya Flour to Dog Food I should be ok?

  • @Jbay2608 Blegh sorry for the delay..stupid hurricane taking out power/interwebs...

Yes our cup is your 250 ml..but you are also correct, roughly a 1 to 1. I really only measured anything out to give an idea for the video, I tend to go by the "roughly" measurements.

  • @supersamo95 Sweet, best of luck to you. I look forward to hearing about some great fish! ;)

  • I've made about 2kg's of these ready for when I next go fishing. They actually look quite good and I can see them working. Will post my results with them on here. Thank you!

  • @mattorford11 Yeah you guys don't use the cup for cooking ..I think I mentioned it before but it is buried deep in the comments..I believe, if I understand the charts right , our 1 cup is equal to your 240 ml.
