@learnsports That's not a balk. Anytime you step off the back of the rubber you can do whatever you want. You can do a back flip for all I care.

@drhawkin As long as you have them turn glove side it's all good. It's not a balk turning non-glove side just doesn't square up your shoulders.

By stepping off the back, it's not a balk. After they step over the back, then they can throw to 2nd. Make sense? I've just found for younger kids that it's a tough move to spin.

Just wondering if anyone has ever tought the step through move to second. Basically, the right handed pitcher steps with their right foot over the back of the rubber and then throws. I've found this easier for my 10 year old pitchers than a spin or inside move. They also can just raise the ball up and run at the runner--causing a pickle at times. Thoughts ?
