Our Day (A Wedding Song) - sung by Jack & Laurie Marti

Here is the song Laurie and I sang to each other on our wedding day, twenty-nine years ago today (August 26, 1978). I think this is the first time Laurie's been able to almost get through it without crying! The song was written by a friend of the pastor who married us, but I don't remember his name. Hope you like it!

I just now watched this video, paying close attention to the part where Laurie cries. I was reminded of what I heard a minister say lately, that tears were the sign of a tender heart. Yesterday when you visited us and you played the guitar and sang for us, I watched Laurie looking at you and I saw tears in her eyes as she heard you sing and play. I could see the tenderness in her. How precious her heart is. You two are just lovely together! We really did enjoy your visit and believe it was God!

That was so tremendously beautiful you two! 29 years. Wow! I am so fortunate that my parents have been married for over 30 years, and my grandparents were married f/54 years before grandpa passed on. My sincerest Happy Anniversary to you both!!! God is so good!

Jack! It was a HONOR and a JOY hearing you and Laurie again on WSGM radion today!! I just happened to turn on the radio this morning for the 1st time in a long time and when I found out about the Share-A-Thon I IMMEDIATELY thought "They should have included Jack & Laurie! Not knowing that they did, I was SO HAPPY when Laurie called and said you were there! Beautiful! You & your wife got married not long before my husband's parents got married (9/15/78). So I think that's neat :) Besides that, me & my husband have been married 7 years (4/22).
