how would it be our home if we were driven out of St. Vincent? Central America accepted us... and I disagree because i'm from belize and we are not marginalized.. the garifuna in honduras are being treated unfair because of racism, something that does not exsist in Belize.. Africa is our true home..

I would disagree with you. St Vincent is the true home of the Garinagu people. Yurumein, is always present in Garifuna songs. In Belize Garinagu have always been marginalized and werent allowed to own land, in Honduras we are being displaced from our homes. I am sorry but that doesnt feel like home to me.

I'm from Belize.. One thing I must say is that the Garifuna people don't feel that we are displaced. Central America is our home.

i'm fascinated by the possibility of generating some connectivity between young people from st. vincent and the grenadines and our displaced brethren in honduras. what role does st. vincent play in the history of the garifuna in honduras? is it a place of pilgrimage? why? why not?
