Have you never drive a bosnian road? Taste the beauty of this country and watch the ruins of the 90's war. These are 10 minutes on the road between Doboj and Derventa in the bosnian serb Entity called Republika Srpska, part of Republika of Bosna i Hercegovina. April 29th 2007.

  • I'm going there this summer (along with Serbia and depending on who I am speaking to the country of Kosovo or the Serbian province of Kosovo). Do you know if driving in Bosnia tends to be difficult for Americans? I'm specifically interested in seeing Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Tuzla and Srebrenica. At this time, I'm debating whether to rent a car or just use the bus system.

  • @RedStore4 Hi! I suggest you to rent a car, bus lines are very slow and not confortable. In Bosnia and Erzegovina I never heard about problems for americans. Same in Belgrade. About Kosovo- Methodja my suggestion is take care and no dressed like a classic turist. Use local cars. Good idea could be ask infos to USA Embassy in Belgrade. If you need some cheap hotels addresses feel free to ask me via email: claudiogherardini@gmail.com. Have good trip!

  • When I was there it seemed to me that in Bosnia distances are big just like in the countryside of the USA. Is that so?

  • @Leeate This you say is because there are no highways in Bosnia. Speed average is 50 km/h. To drive 100 km you need 2 hours. Almost like in USA. Bih is a small country anyway. Beautiful and small!

  • i was there like a year ago. I visit every summer. Right now i live in California.

  • Sarajevo look well now, but BIH has still a lot of problems. Too many mistakes in the last 15 years from all involved institutions and governements.... This winter I will not go there like I did in the last 16 years, I will go next summer, I have friends in Tuzla, Saraj, Mostar and Banja Luka.

  • hello,

i was in bosnia 3 times as a canadian soldier in '94, 2000, and 2003. i spent time in coralici, bihac, kljuc, cazin, banja luka and a little town near sarajevo. it's mostly mountains, so you must take care when driving there. the big trucks go slow up and down the mountain(they must pay for brake pads)! i was there in 2010 visiting friends in klujc and cazin. beautiful country. too much cevapi and slivovic...cheers, rob

  • @elmin911 I went to both of those places (along with many others) but I ended up deciding to rely on the bus system throughout the Balkans. It was reasonably priced and comfortable. My only regret is leaving my sunglasses on a bus. Despite hearing about the recent problems in Kosovo, it was fine when I was there (including Mitrovica). However, my favorite town in all of the Balkans was Srebrenica despite its tragic past. The town is very pretty, quiet and located in the mountains.

  • I so fucking cant wait for us to get new country leaders, these leaders are too dumb to run country. All we want is stable economy, stable ecology and less poor people.

  • @RedStore4 rent a car, go to mostar and sarajevo, its a must go. just fallow the other cars. go 10km over the limit at max cuz u dont know what ur doing, dont over take other cars cuz ur life will end, cuz u dont know what ur doing. its not like american roads. pay attention non stop cuz in bosnia, we have to take corners when we drive

  • @clagher There are times when you can cruise with 90 km/h, but this is usually not the case because of the trucks that are transporting wood even on weekends..

What was surprising to me is that the roads are almost in excellent condition (in my country roads kill your car). Yes Bosnia is fabulous.

  • Prvo ŠEŠLJE, sa desne strane Gostionica, put na levoj strani ide u Srbiju ili na Hrvatsko (Orašje). Kasnije Derventa. Sad imaju u Derventi novo benzinsko stanico. NADA Pumpa, kod nje možeš ići ljevo i dolaziš u Banja Luku I Gradišku kroz Srbac( slaba put )
