  • at 6:05 I think you blew cover Evan. It was CLOSE!!!

  • Pretty much a slam-dunk that my foot was out.

However, that was the same SO that was running this kid:

    watch?v=sl9NEC_gmTg

I was not aware my foot was out until reviewing the video. But after watching that kid (good shooter) standing in the doorway earlier in the day, I knew those SO's would be lax on cover calls.

  • What guns are you guys shooting?

  • Myself (tan digi-camo vest) and tad (green vest): Glock 34

Larry (first shooter) .45 STI 1911

Roxanne (same shirt, Larry's wife): 9mm STI 1911

    Bill: Wilson Combat in 9mm

    Matthew Mink: CZ-75

  • Cool!

I coudn't make their match this year and it was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing.

Bench Rest Rifle Club puts on a good show.

  • Ya , i know the rule book. I think a Bill drill is a weak choice for a state match. Better to have two separate strings imho. Glad you are enamored with it.

Now we can discuss the guy about 6min in with the highway/safety vest on...won't pass a scarecrow test ever. but that ok I guess...or no cover calls when shooters feet extend beyond the walls... One step short of the Nationals....

  • Oh, and they typically download to six rounds, if they download everyone, so that the wheelgun shooters are reloading at the same point as everyone else.

Not everyone shoots a bottom feeder. ;-)

  • Because the test of this particular standards stage, is that of a slide-lock reload. Not a tac load.

Per the rulebook, the use of a tac-load or RWR on-the-clock at a match is discouraged, and is recommended as a *required* skill only during the lull between strings of fire.

In other words, no one performs a tac-reload *DURING* a gunfight in real life. It's used to top off your pistol *AFTER* the gunfight.

  • Hi - ya, read the rule book. Guns should start loaded to division capacity. I can see there is no concealment on the stageso a standards stage. I can infer from the the stage is being shot as intended. I wonder why designan IDPA stage that way? Why download the gun? Why not RwR or TR? I would unterstand if it was Stage2String3 from the classifier...but it's not. So you asked me "what good does it do to retain an empty mag" Mine is "why would you only load your gun to 6!"

  • Lite? Hardly. It's a state championship IDPA Sanctioned match. One step short of the Nationals.

    Have you read the rulebook?

What else would you do with a locked-open pistol? Retain the magazine? What good does an empty metal tube do in a gunfight?
