BTW sweet Pinto. I had a 74 when I was younger. Not a hot rod by any means. Fun car andmy first manual trans. I was 15 years old (1978) and bought it for $400. A little front end damage but still drivable. Just cosmetic. real fun car. Fond memories!!

Too much brand loyalty here. I am a Chevy guy, but can respect the hell out of Fords and Mopars. A good mechanic can make a sweet 10 second street car out of any of these. It comes down to what you like. Personal preference prevails along with budget. I love 65 'Stang fastbacks, even tho I'm a Chevy guy. I love 68 'Cudas, too. I can't afford either one unless its a total basket case. My budget puts me in line with later model years. Looking at a 78 Camaro right now. Don't hate, they're all nice!

most people build chevy motors, especially small blocks, because they are cheaper... point blank. water pump for a 350 in stock at every advance auto parts in the US, $35. fuel pump for a 351, "well we're gonna have to order that one... its gonna run you about $80"

Let me guess, judging by your statement, you are somwhere around 12 years old, and don't know the difference between a small block chevy and a toilet?. The only positive thing chevy has going for it is they are slightly cheaper to build, but then again, you get what you pay for. Are they more popular, sure, are they better, no.
