  • oh yeah white belt, you have some backround in wrestling for sure your base is good and anyways this is nogi where belts do not matter. Try to fight a purple belt with a gi on and it is a totally different game I will guarantee that you will not dominate as much.

  • @TheYogibear111 lol Well I don't do gi Yogi so that's easy to say...However I know Judo so could proably throw jiu-jitsu guys even easier with a gi on. On the ground yeah for sure I'd have a hard time. But how often do you see people walking around with gi's on the street? LOL

That's why I do no gi!

  • @figthersdreams ya but in real life people usually walk around with clothes on

  • @MustardCuttah If you pull guard while you opponent is taking you off balance, i.e. they force you to pull guard, then they recieve points. So don't worry, there is a price.

Also i think the reason many people don't like guard pullers is because it called "Guard". It makes it sound like a cop-out, when infact its a very sensible tactic provided you have a game plan... If it was called something like "Leg trap" nobody would think anything of it.

  • IMO Pulling guard should be deductive of points.

  • @TheYogibear111 Why so defensive? Why not just congratulate him on dominating someone in their own sport? Good work fightersdreams, I'm like you in ways, So Good work!

  • I didnt see you win shit if you're the guy in white

  • @figthersdreams How many times do you see people wearing nothing but shorts and rash guards on the street? Street clothes are way closer to gi than no-gi.

  • Ok... so besides the fact that you're a lot bigger than him, winning by points doesn't mean you won the fight. You talk a lot about how no gi is more realistic, but in a street fight there's no agreement that rewards guard passing. In the end of the day, the smaller guy still stopped the bigger and stronger guy from choking him or breaking his limbs. And anyways, you're more of an MMA guy, since you trained judo, wrestling and a little bit of jiu jitsu.

  • @figthersdreams umm, but if your gonna do BJJ then you should definetly be doing GI, otherwise no point. Gi is tradition of BJJ. I train no-gi 2 hrs a week and GI 4-6 hrs. a week. BTW, you definetly aren't gonna hip throw or any kind of judo throw on a BJJ practitioner. Especially a purple belt, unless your a high level judo practitioner

  • the gi is good and i am a wreslter/ bjj guy with tads of judo and i roll people up with nogi but with a gi its a lot harder to dominate

  • i hope the bjj guy is a white belt , 'cause usually when i watch these thing or roll wrestlers get there butts handed to them.
