An uncommercial, short student film.

  • Also what transition effects did you use at 1:40??

  • @smith2713 Yes, we used After Effects, the transition at 1.40 is Bloom in after effects, or a keyframed Glow effect. I dont remember really, it was quite a long time ago.

  • Damn. That was good.

Also, where did you shoot this?

  • @TsEnergizer Thanks for the comment. We shot this in Sheffield, UK and Peak District, Derbyshire.

  • good camera work and decent special FX - I like the filter work in first half - gloomy and abandoned tones - I liked the portal FX into the new demension at the castle-the filter on the second demesion was a little to "orangey" in tone though- the alter with the four elements was well done but actor didn't seem too astonished with what he found --over all nice job- keep it up!

  • @Ubertubermeister Thanks for the constructive criticism, it really helps us improve.

  • well, that made no fucking sense. how to save the human race from apocalyptic nightmare- time heals all wounds, walk around, look at stuff, poke a skull, check digi-map, enter castle, go through wormhole, ignore floating boulders, touch bubble rocket, humanity saved. the end.

  • @hobocamptheater I also wish there were additional characters but the pay-off was actually pretty cool. From about 4.30 to the end the concept just fell into place. I ended up liking it despite my doubts with the lack of human interaction and events. A good ending can save a movie. Chronicle had a crap ending so despite me liking the first 2/3 of it i ended up hating it.

  • I mostly agree with "sexycrazyinc."

stylistic walking with foreboding music alone doesn't do anything for me, there needs to be a story, characters, a point, build-up, pay off, and something actually happening. All of these things except a small amount of story (all told through voice-overs no less) is missing.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see the appeal.

  • Awesome..thanks. What type of lens were using?

  • what program did you use for this? After Effects?

  • Gotta say that TV is looking good for being nearly 100 years old.

  • really good work
