As a young amateur photographer, Ansel flirted with Pictorialism, which was then in vogue. However, he soon abandonded the style in favor of "pure" or "straight" photography as he developed his craft and gained the ability to make expressive photographs without attempting to make them look like paintings.
@isaactrujillo I actually had the entire video up for viewing at one time but the producers of the documentary complained and I had to remove it.
