WWW.THARANGINEE.COM is the brain-child of Shobanaa Bhalchandra, experienced Bharathanatyam (South Indian traditional dance form) exponent from Chennai, India.
She is recognized not only as a mature performer, but also as an experienced Guru (Teacher) and an imaginative choreographer.
One of the early disciples of the famous dance duo, Dhanajayans, Shobanaa was trained in the popular Kalakshetra style. She went on to complement this with an extensive study of Abhinaya (Expressions) under Padmabushan Kalanidhi Narayanan.
Shobanaa, the youngest of the Trio Sisters, acquired recognition amongst the connoisseurs of Bharathanatyam. She has also performed and conducted workshops globally, in a career spanning across three decades.
THARANGINEE is her Bharathanatyam dance school at Chennai - where the focus is on purity of form and grammar, without compromising in an attempt to cater to the masses.
