Today they will show you how English Saddles are made!!!

English saddles are used to ride horses in "English riding" disciplines throughout the world. The discipline is not limited to England or English-speaking countries. This style of saddle used in all of the Olympic and FEI equestrian disciplines, except for the newly-approved FEI events of equestrian vaulting and reining. Most designs were specifically developed to allow the horse freedom of movement, whether jumping, running, or moving quickly across rugged, broken country with fences. Unlike the western saddle or Australian Stock Saddle, there is no horn or other design elements that stick up above the main tree of the saddle.

  • Its amazing that the foam is shaped by hand. I always though it would be a machine to ensure uniformity.

  • great, I want to see how it's made Western saddle, too

  • If you want a quality saddle get one that was hand made by craftsmen in Walsall, England.

  • Very interesting. I always wanted to see how English saddles were made.

  • @Nightswerve Holy run-on sentence, Batman!

  • please dont think that all saddlers make saddles like this! some of us still use skill and correct methods, not fast fixes.... ugh!

Please dont say all english saddles are made this way - so very very untrue. I wont touch a plastic tree, they are dreadful things! By narrowing after it has been made, especially so much, they cant tell if they have popped the arch plate saddles, maybe get the tree on the horses back first, make sure the tree is the right fit first!

  • @HorseFever596 actually they use that foam because it is padding all english saddles nowadays are made with this anyway this saddle was a production line saddle my custom fit saddle was made to my order and my horse and my arse and leg i was included in the process of actually making sure it fit and most english saddlers dont make theyre own trees they buy them premade and they are normally not bent they are already the right size the sadller i used made saddles for the queen of england

  • @buttermilkworldsbest hmm.. well riding english or western i just like to ride.. because i love being around horses period.. really shows how passionate about horses u are.. i just love riding in general. dont hate on western because there is not only stuff thats hard in english but also western. im not trying to be mean but it really offended me because i ride both. it basically came off to me as... " english is better than western" and that kind of offends you when you also ride western.

  • @massdriver it really sorta is if you have patience xD. My trainer builds saddles all the time. Western is 10x harder, and that's what he makes mainly.

  • @HorseFever596 Recipe? more of technique :) (don't worry I probably would've thought recipe immediately too xD)
