This video will discuss:

-Why doesn't your black daughter believe you when you tell her her hair is beautiful?
-Is relaxing your hair REALLY conforming to a white standard of beauty or trying to fit in with the other races?
-How can you tell a woman is self-hating based on the fact that she relaxes her hair?
-Can you find a real world manifestation of this so-called self-hate?

  • it is simple mathematics, you can believe whatever you want but black people have all types of psychoneurosis centered around identity, hair and skin shade. if you NEVER wear your hair natural, you must be dissatisfied with hair.

  • @akbar360

What's so wrong with being dissatisfied with your hair texture? It's just hair. Whites are allowed to say they don't like their red hair or pale skin. But if a black person doesn't like their kinky hair, somehow that means they have deeeep issues. Now some black people do have issues of course, but I don't think all blacks who relax their hair have issues. Very few people are happy with everything on their body.

  • @UHeardMe1stTime So you do not find it strange to place the hair of another race WITH a TOTALLY unnatural texture strange? It is like PHYSICALLY taking the ass off of a Black woman and placing them on A skinny Chinese woman's hips.

  • @dantej32

I'm saying it's made into too big of a deal. It's not important in the grand scheme of things.

  • @UHeardMe1stTime Is anything really that important in the grand scheme of things? This is simply an issue.

  • @dantej32

" Is anything really that important in the grand scheme of things? "

Definitely. but this isn't one of those things.

  • cris rock wife got a HUGE WEAVE. they're hearing this from their mother. cris rock is a snake like many other black celebrities cashing in on and showing the worst of black culture. that movie should have never been made and what about the sistas who have natural and locks? never showed the diversity amongst women.

  • @fanatic709 Hair breakage? Harsh detergents? Over washing? WOW, Blame everything else except for hair chemicals Many women place on their scalp and hair. AMAZING. Over washing causes damage. I don't know. Maybe the CAUSTIC chemicals that straighten the hair is healthy. You win

  • @dante lastly. wow! am i writing a book? give up on companies having ethics over $ especially if the issue is not life threatening. a company that sales products w/ harsh drying detergents that has adverts/directions that say do 2 washes & shows a model piling hair on top of their head (sure to cause tangles) w/ ridiculous lather which can/does cause damaged hair will simply come out w/ a line 2 help the consumer restore glory that they helped demolish, making them pay 4 the privilege.

  • @dantej32 cont. manipulation that most ppl use? or relaxed hair which 4 me at least is easy to get out of balance w/ moisture from over washing/co washing which causes spongy excessively elastic hair that breaks? part of the reason that ppl believe they need to wash their hair so often is not only due 2 different standards of hygiene but also a cosmetic & advertising industry whose job is 2 sell the public products & 1 reason 2 clear stock is tell consumers 2 overuse product.

  • @dantej32 was gonna ignore u @ best/tell u 2 kiss my whispering eye @ worst. i don't even use the same cleansers on my face as my body, nor do i exfoliate it in the same way as say my feet. even my ears require different care than the rest of me! but let's pretend ur logic isn't tilted. i'm curious now, how often should natural afro tex hair which is the most fragile especially the tighter the coil bc every bend of the curl is a potential break be subject to the harsh detergents &

  • @fanatic709 News flash, your head is a part of your body and it gets the same daily grime as your body. I like your Willie Wonka reference by the way. LOL. Do you perspire? Sweat is human waste with UREA in it. Piss has Urea in it. Wind blows dust in it. Pollution like fumes from cars and factories. Wind blows dirt into your hair. Dust from inside your home. Bacteria is in the air. Does your pillow case stay clean the entire week? Tell it to some one else sis

  • @dantej32 my scalp isn't subject to the same types of bacteria as my body. my scalp doesn't have an occasion 2 come in contact w/ human waste 4 example, which would require daily showers. hair is very delicate & anyone of any color who understands this will tell u that perhaps u only need 2 wash your hair 2-3x a week. afro textured hair 1-2x a week. then there r things like hard water 2 consider. clearly u only know of 1/2 of what u speak. good day sir.... i said good day!

  • @fanatic709 Thanks for telling me. From now on I will bathe once per week and won't use lotion on my skin.
