@azzy314159 can't someone sing their version of a classic without them being accused of trying to "mimic" those who sang it before them? I hate when people think that when one artist sings a song very well, that means no other artists after them have the right to sing the song as well. There's a million and one people on youtube singing their version of this song, and I'd hate for someone to compare them to Dame Bessey when all they're doing is singing a song they admire.

This performance is a great one from Fantasia. She captured the character, the longing, the passion, everything. Her musicality is top notch and I would have to say, regardless of who the song was written for, this performance stands on its on as one of the best interpretations. I don't care that the song was written for pitchy Barbara Streisand. Give credit when credit is due. Also, just because the song was JOINTLY written by your grandfather doesn't mean YOU know anything about the piece.
