During Phoenix Phall Phunfest 2007, we had the opportunity to watch them run Flying Turns. I took the opportunity and filmed as much as I could. It's a difficult ride to video.

  • Every time I go to knoebels this ride is still being built. Does anyone know when it's going to be done?

  • @SK8ERBOYYY5797 They have been trying to work out issues with the trains for some time now. There is no word on when it will be open. In the meantime, they are working on a new coaster. They bought a ride from another park and it is currently under construction next to the mine museum. It will be called Black Diamond. It may have a soft opening by the end of the year and a grand opening next season.

  • A problem with my old camera.

  • I rode the original Flying Turns as a kid at Euclid Beach Park. The cars don't look anything like the originals.

  • @ConnorMagic - Could it be the ratcheting lift chain?

  • The 2012 Knoebels pricing page on their website says that Flying Turns (among other rides) won't be included in any Bargain Nights. Does them mentioning Flying Turns mean it may FINALLY open, as the ride has been complete for almost FIVE years? The big problem is with the cars not operating as they expect. (BTW, Black Diamond, which is also not included in Bargain Nights, opened for Hallo-Fun Nights and is ready to go for 2012)

  • i wish they woulda just kept the other coaster there i mean REALLY 4 YEARS and they aren't done with it yet! Black Diamond looks cool and they have it almost done in 1 year...so yeah....eh but i guess it should be good for the time spent on it!

  • @SK8ERBOYYY5797 they havent worked out all of the issues yet it definitely won't be open this year possibly next if that. black diamond they are hoping for october. but both coasters will be AWESOME when finished!!!!!

  • They must not know what they are doing. The Flying Turns was something I used to ride as a kid at the Forest Park Highlands in the late 50s for heaven's sake. I'm sure in 2011 it can't be that hard to make. Four YEARS and still not working??

  • This ride was a great one at Riverview in the 60's. It was just like being on a bobsled, but there was only one car at a time, not a string of cars. I hope this opens so everyone can enjoy it.

  • they should just scratch this ride........should of just left the other coaster there

  • cant wait for this ride..me and my bf wanna ride it..LOL

  • @ConnorMagic

I like to know that as well.
