June 1940 - My grandfather volunteers for the forces. Chemists were too valuable to be put on the front lines, and thus he found himself supervising the very dangerous manufacture of Cordite and Nitroglycerine.

In October 2009, I set out to re-trace his steps. This film brings his war back to life with period footage, audio and recently discovered period photographs.

  • Excellent and informative video, though chilling in some of the detail. Knew this place and some of those who worked there but learned more in 10 short minutes than ever I knew before. Excellent well done!!!!

  • @conbhaill1977 Thanks for the comments. Do you know where any of them worked? Do you know any of their stories?
